Chiropractic is a health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and further prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. These mechanical disorders can effect the functioning of our nervous system and so our general health.....we are restoring function & stability to the musculoskeletal system. By releasing the tensions in the spine and other areas of the body we allow our muscles and soft tissue to relax and maintain normal function so reducing the aches, pains and stiffness many of us can suffer with.

Chiropractic can cover a range of techniques, sometimes known for strong or high velocity adjustments, however the Mctimoney technique is a relatively gentle form of chiropractic that focus' on the whole body.

Other techniques such as soft tissue work, movement patterning and exercise may also be included.

Alongside diagnosing your musculoskeletal disorders, we will look at your general lifestyle, including your physical and emotional health, diet, exercise and lifestyle as these can all impact on our general well-being.

Mctimoney Chiropractic is safe for everyone from newborns to the elderly including during pregnancy. A full case history will be taken alongside neurological and orthopaedic testing to ensure a correct diagnosis. Referrals can be made where necessary.

Fully registered with the General Chiropractic Council, McTimoney Chiropractic Association & Royal College of Chiropractors.

Chiropractic care for Animals

Animal Chiropractic is a part of animal health care that focuses on the preservation and health of the neuro-musculo-skeletal system.

Why is this important?

Nerves control everything that happens in our animals.  any adverse affects to the nervous system can show effects throughout the entire body.

The brain and spine are the vital sources of the nervous system. The spine is a complex framework of bones (vertebra), ligaments, muscles and nerves. If the movement and biomechanics of the vertebra become dysfunctional, they can interfere with the performance of the nerves that are branching off of the spinal cord and going to the all of the muscles and organs. As this occurs, your animal can lose normal mobility; resulting in stiffness, tension, pain and even organ dysfunction.  Additionally, when normal movement is affected, and left unattended, it will ultimately impact your animal’s entire wellbeing and quality of life.

Does my animal need a Chiropractic Treatment?

Changes to our animals can be seen in many different ways from

  • lameness or changes in gait

  • changes in behaviour

  • reluctance to work/go for walks

  • reduced performance

  • pain/stiffness

  • pain/tenderness to touch.

During a treatment a complete history is taken, the horse/dog is then examined including gait analysis. These findings are then discussed with yourself and a treatment offered.
